Sharina Johnson (Founder)

Founded in 2020 by Army veteran Sharina Johnson as a mental health resources tool (MEH Support, LLC), Arcana Recovery was created in 2021 to provide full-service streamlined support to people living and thriving with substance use disorder.

“I wanted to create a tool that I wish I had on my recovery journey,” said Johnson who lamented the lack of dignified and available resources for her and other military service members who have experienced substance use disorder. Johnson has spent several years in successful recovery.

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, more than 23 million adults in the United States have struggled with substance abuse disorder. This disease takes a toll on an individual's relationships, health, and outlook on life.

Arcana Recovery empowers people to set goals, journal during moments of self-reflection, join groups, identify triggers, schedule appointments, talk to support team members, and more – in a safe, dignified, and confidential way. Additionally, support professionals are able to communicate with people on their caseload and are able to increase empathy and emotional intelligence by having the ability to participate in similar activities as their clients.

Arcana focuses on all areas of personal development and growth, primarily by allowing people to choose how they want their road of recovery to look.

“Love and empathy are very important to people living with substance use disorder. We are capable of making our own decisions, but we definitely need a support team that wants us to be great. Arcana does just that,” said Johnson.
